Orouba Agrifoods Processing Co. is a subsidiary of Ajwa Holding for food industries, founded in 1998 with an authorized capital of LE 100 million,paid in capital of LE 24 million and overall investment costs of LE 45 million. The firm’s initial investment was the construction of a large plant for processing frozen vegetables and breaded products. It is one of the Middle East’s major new entries into the frozen vegetables, Basma brand has received an enthusiastic reception within the local and the international markets. With an energetic and professional staff of 250, the company processes approximately 12,500 tons of frozen vegetables as well as 1,800 tons of value added products. Orouba built a 20,000 square meters modern processing plant in 1999, which is located 15 minutes away from Cairo by car. It was designed by professional experts and powered by the latest hi-tech equipment from the most famous multinational companies in this field. All packaging areas are air-conditioned and two separated cold stores of 3,000 cubic meters are integrated in the plant. In the Year 2000, Orouba was ISO 9001/2000 certified by the German TUV body.
